Challenge
We love a logistics challenge here at Allseas Global. So when our client asked us to support them in the complex road transportation of 23 industrial scale boiler sections, we were ready for the challenge.
The sections ranged from 30 tonne to 80 tonnes and measured upto 4.5 meters wide.
Process
The oversized cargo was received from a vessel in Immingham (UK) then unloaded and moved utilising our own in-house multi-axel hydraulic trailers. The availability of this specialist equipment created significant cost savings for our customer and established a fast transition from ship to lorry.
The forward journey for the boiler sections was via road freight to Shepshed as components for the development of a new waste plant in Leicestershire.
We project managed the full move which included permit planning, supplying private escorts between locations, port authorisation and haulier management. Co-ordinating the move to ensure the program happened in sequence.
