Challenge
The shipment in question called for turbo generation machinery to be shipped quickly and efficiently to Mumbai, India. Yet, the sheer size and volume of the cargo meant we would need to move 13 x 40’ shippers own high cube containers, plus 3700 m3 of cased cargo.
Process
After making arrangements for a charter vessel we negotiated with the Port of Felixstowe to use their old Landguard Container Terminal to receive some 75 truckloads of cargo from our packing facility in Lincoln just 3 weeks from the date of the initial enquiry.
Outcome
Arriving over the space of five days, the cargo was loaded and positioned on to the vessel, specially geared for such a huge consignment.
