Allseas moves cranes across desert
25 October 2013
Allseas Global Logistics has organised the door-to-door shipment of five new internal gantry cranes from Scotland to Saudi Arabia for its client.
The consignments included the five cranes, which are capable of moving 380,000 tonnes per year when in full operation, and ten 35 m long girder sections, making up a total of 3,715 cu m.
A chartered vessel, OXL Avatar, was required to move the cargo from the UK to Saudi Arabia, before it was moved by truck across part of the Arabian desert to its final destination.
